About Me

Hi there! 

Thanks for visiting my blog. My name is Olivia (20-ish), born in a town in the high land of Sumatera named Berastagi now reside in Canberra, Australia.

I received a degree in International Relations from University of Indonesia and did non-degree studies in Swinburne University of Technology (Melbourne) and University of Montana (USA), both under full scholarship. I am now working on my graduate degree at The Australian National University (Canberra).

I am fortunate enough to be able to travel across the globe mostly for educational and youth activities.

My background of  career is related to policy and environmental sectors. When not busy working, I'll be busy organizing movie screening for public or managing my eco project Youth EcoPreneurship Camp.

I am a self claimed environmentalist. I enjoy traveling, blogging and reading. I occasionally deliver speech and write articles on traveling or environmental issues. You are welcome to send me email or talk to me on twitter @odianina

Professional Profile


Olivia is currently a graduate student at the Australian National University (ANU). She has been working for environment and policy issues in various roles for the last 6 years, including as a research associate for USAID project, a researcher for ANU collaboration project on Indonesian legislative election, a program assistant for School of Government and Public Policy (SGPP) Jakarta, a staff for National Council on Climate Change Indonesia, a project officer for National Commission on Violence against Women Indonesia, and a project officer for BBC Indonesia program. 

Olivia is an active advocate for social and youth issues. She has been representing Indonesia in various international events including G-20 Youth Summit in Toronto (Canada),  Asian Youth Forum in Phnom Penh (Cambodia), Asian International Model United Nations in Beijing (China), World Leadership Conference in Singapore, and International Week events in Sofia (Bulgaria) and in Vienna (Austria). Olivia is also a founder and project director for Youth Ecopreneurship Camp, an initiative to reduce the number of unemployment in Indonesia while rising environmental awareness. 

Olivia holds a bachelor degree in International Relations from University of Indonesia (2010). During her study, she was entitled Peace Scholarship to study at Swinburne University of Technology, Australia, and Study at the United States Institutes (SUSI) scholarship on Global Environmental Issues at the University of Montana, U.S.A. She recently received the 2013 Australian Awards Scholarship (AAS) which gives her opportunity to continue her further study in Australia. In addition to AAS scholarship, she was awarded with the prestigious Alison Sudradjat Prize by the Government of Australia.

Olivia is an avid reader and traveler. During her spare time, she enjoys practising yoga or
writing her thought on her blog.

    i am looking for Australia Award Scholarship too after my graduation on November 2014,

    but I did not coming from reputable and well-known university, is it still possible to reach that dream?
